Caroline Hodges works as a lecturer in the Media School at Bournemouth University. She was awarded her PhD in 2006 and also holds a BA Hons degree in Spanish from the University of Southampton and an MA in Marketing from Bristol Business School (University of the West of England).Caroline is a member of the Centre for Public Communication Research, based at Bournemouth University. Her research interests include intercultural communication, social communication/marketing and public diplomacy and cultural relations. Exploring the occupational culture of public relations in Mexico City, her recent PhD research explored the potential for PR practitioners as cultural intermediaries. Caroline is also visiting academic at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid and is a member of the Asociación Mexicana de Investigadores de la comunicación

Caroline is a member of the board of the not-for-profit international education partnership- International Professors Project, a research project supervisor for U8 Global Student Partnership for Development and member of the organising committee of the Bournemouth University International Development Society. Her professional experience includes working with the British Embassy in Mexico City as communication advisor on sustainable development programme work and coordinator of the UK Presidency of the European Union and as advisor to a newly established CSR charity in the South West of England. Caroline has also worked in Corporate Communication, both in-house and agency.
