Larsåke Larsson is Professor in Media & Communication at Örebro University, Sweden. He has a Ph.D. in journalism (Nyheter i samspel/News Interplay). Besides journalism his research above all deals with public relations and crisis communication. In the PR field he is responsible for a research programme, Swedish PR and democracy, where one of the projects ended in the book Opinionsmakarna ( The OpinionMakers)
In the crisis field he has conducted several studies focusing governmental crisis management and communication, from the Estonia disaster 1994 to the tsunami catastrophe 2004/05. He has also written a couple of Swedish university text books in public relations, among them Tillämpad kommunikationsvetenskap/Applied communication and is co-editor for a methodological text book (Methods in media and communication).
